Depending on their schedule and the type of dancing they do, different dancers will have different shoe requirements. For example, a dancer who takes one hour of class a week might be able to make a pair of shoes last 6-8 months, but a dancer who is in full time training may only get 6 weeks wear. Other factors that can affect how quickly pointe shoes wear out include heat, strength and flexibility of the feet and an increase in use of the shoes (for example show rehearsals or exams). For those who are in full time training or using their shoes more than 3 times a week we recommend that you consider having at least two pairs of shoes on the go at a time and alternating between the two. This will allow the shoes to fully dry out inbetween wears which will increase the life of the shoes.
